William H. Smith, 77, of Quakertown, died Sat, May 7 at Arden Courts, Lower Macungie Twp. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Hunsberger) Smith. They celebrated their 53rd anniversary last August. He owned & operated the former Hunsberger and Smith Co., Quakertown, a plastering & stucco business started by his late father-in-law, Harold Hunsberger, with whom he was a partner until Harold's retirement. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late James and Marianne (Henderson) Smith. William graduated from Palisades High School in 1951. He served with the U.S. Army during Peacetime. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Quakertown where he served on the council and as president of the cemetery committee. William was a family man, attended many sporting events with grandchildren, loved to travel and spend time at their shore house in Sea Isle City. Surviving with wife, daughters, Julie Allebach, husband Eric of Coopersburg; Laurie Pinter, husband Geoffrey of Barto; grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew (fiancée, Janielle Tygh), Ryan, Jared; sister, Louisa Gerenser, husband Erv, Riegelsville. Predeceased by brother James, sister Elizabeth Murphy. Services: 11:00 am Wed., May 18 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 19 S. Tenth St., Quakertown. Jeffrey A.
