William Albert Schweighofer, 81, of Quakertown died Friday, March 11 in Quakertown. He was the husband of Mildred Kathryn (Underwood) Schweighofer. The couple celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in July 2010. He was a machinist/ tool & die maker for Insaco Inc., Quakertown, and previously Standard Press Steel Co., Jenkintown before retiring. When not at his employment, Bill loved laboring at his Sun View Farm, and in later years tending his flock of sheep. He was an accomplished wood worker, which included 'turning' out many useful items for family and friends. Born in Honesdale, Wayne Co., he was a son of the late Llewellyn & Lily (Vaughan) Schweighofer. William (Bill) was active in his church which met Sundays in his home for 55 years and he would host the church's annual convention as well. He was a life member of the Miller Blood Bank. He was drafted into the Marines during the Korean War and served as a conscientious objector. Surviving with his wife, are daughters Sharon Stoneberger (Dennis), Bozeman, MT, Cheryl Conley (LaVern), King of Prussia, Debbie Francis (Michael), Trumbauersville, Mary Foster (Jonathan), E. Stroudsburg, & Gwendolyn Williams (Corbin), Sellersville; grandchildren Rebecca, Laura, Mikey, Mitchel, Aidan, & Ella; great-grandson, Marc; sister Joyce Moller, Atascadero, CA; nephew Chris (Amy), niece Anne (Dennis); great-nephews Sean & Timothy; great-nieces Lauren and Emily. Funeral services will be Monday, March 14 at 11:00 am in the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown. Visitations: Sunday evening 6-8 pm and Monday 9:30-10:30 am in the funeral home. Interment Quakertown Union Cemetery.
