Wayne B. Godshall

February 21, 1938 — October 6, 2024

Sellersville

Wayne Barndt Godshall, a long-time resident of Sellersville, entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence after a two and a half month illness on Sunday, October 6, 2024. He was 86.

He was the loving husband of Hermine (Leenes) Godshall, with whom he had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July.

Born in Franconia Township on February 21, 1938, Wayne was the son of the late Henry B. and Lillie (Barndt) Godshall. He was raised in Telford and was a 1956 graduate of Souderton High School, where he was active in sports, excelling in track.

Mr. Godshall was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having been stationed in Okinawa.

Wayne retired from the former U. S. Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc., Sellersville, where he had worked as a screen printer for many years.

He was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where he had sung in the church choir for 50 years. He was also a Eucharistic Minister (one of the original anointed ministers) for a number of years. Wayne had also volunteered as a lector and, presently, was a member of the Silver and Gold Club.

For a number of years, Wayne played Santa Claus for the children of Rockwild Sunday School in Richland Township.

Wayne and Hermine enjoyed traveling, with their most ambitious trip to Australia and New Zealand. They were also avid square and round dancers, belonging to several dance clubs and attending state and national conventions. In recent years, Wayne and Hermine had spent a great deal of time in the library. Wayne also enjoyed playing games and doing crossword puzzles.

His grandchildren fondly remember his ability to bring a smile to everyone's face through his comical impressions and his general sense of fun and games. Most importantly, he was always making certain each one knew how beautiful they were, both inside and out.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Heidi; four grandchildren: Justin McMenamin (Amber), Valerie Schuett (Cristofer), Anneke McMenamin (Christopher Bremer), and Giano Falco; a great- grandson, Aiden McMenamin; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel (Godshall) Gehman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main St., Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10-11a.m.

Interment will follow in the adjoining parish cemetery.
