Walter Joseph Hartman, age 90, went home to be with his wife and the Lord on Mon. Feb. 24, 2020, at LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown. Born Mar. 3, 1929, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie (Rothenbucher) Hartman, and the widower of the late Una Mae (Kauffman) Hartman, to whom he was married 59 years at the time of her passing. Walter served his country with distinction in Occupied Germany as part of the U.S Army European Command, in the early 1950's. Later, he would go on to be employed as a plumber for many years, and then as a technician at Atlantic Oil and Heating for most of his working life. He was an avid vegetable gardener and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and his pet beagles. Most of all, though, he loved his time with his adoring family, who will miss him immensely. Walter is survived by: sons Carl, Kevin (wife Jane), and Curt (wife Sherry), Hartman; grandson Kyle Hartman and sister Elizabeth Hartman Stoudt. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Wed. Mar. 4, at Naugle Funeral and Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 until the time of service. Interment will follow at Quakertown Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John Rivers Memorial VFW Post 11322, at 41 Belmont Ave. Quakertown, PA 18951.
