Virginia "Ginger" (Neibauer) Shemeley, age 81, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, went home to her Lord and Savior on December 26, 2024, with her family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Elmer A. Shemeley, Jr., with whom she shared 55 wonderful years in marriage following 6 years of courtship.
Born on April 19, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Eleanor (Donohue) Neibauer.
Ginger graduated from Bishop Egan High School in 1961 and worked for a short time at Rohm and Haas before embarking on a lifelong career as a homemaker, a role which she cherished. A devoted wife and mother, she also invested her time cultivating friendships, treasured relationships, and praying for others' needs. She will be remembered for always being ready to help with her generous heart and kind thoughtfulness. She was an epicure who naturally excelled in cooking and baking. An avid traveler, she loved going on roadtrips across the United States for many years with Elmer. They would take an extended trip each fall to visit National Parks and other beautiful scenic areas, especially out West. She carried the joy of the Lord in her heart and shared the good news of the gospel with all those she met.
Ginger is survived by her son Ken and daughter-in-law Andrea (Moore) Shemeley of Pennsburg, PA, her daughter Colleen (Shemeley) Flowers of Denver, CO, her daughter Kerryann (Shemeley) and son-in-law Ryan Hershberger of Camp Hill, PA, her sister Rosanne (Neibauer) and brother-in-law James Hampton of Bensalem, PA, her grandsons Kyle Shemeley, Matthew Shemeley, and Asher Hershberger, and her granddaughter Gracie-Ella Hershberger. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Kristin Shemeley, her sister Susan (Neibauer) and brother-in-law Raymond Hintz, and brother Thomas Neibauer, Jr. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ginger's life at a memorial service beginning at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Franconia Heritage Banquet and Conference Center, 508 Harleysville Pike, Unit A, Telford, PA, 18969. A luncheon will follow with a time to informally visit with the family. Interment at Kellers Church Union Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
