Valeria C. Shelly, 94, of Quakertown, previously of Coopersburg, died Fri. Aug 27, in Belle Haven Nursing Home surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Myles Shelly. Born in Coopersburg, she was a daughter of the late Webster N. and Matilda Emma (Ruth) Link. Valeria was a graduate of the former Bethlehem Business School. In addition to raising her family, she worked as cashier, a machine operator, and as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Trinity Great Swamp UCC, Spinnerstown where she sang on the choir for 40 years, taught Sunday school, assisted the church secretary, and served in numerous volunteer capacities. She was a member of the West End Fire Co Auxiliary, the Golden Agers, and the Rebecca Lodge. Surviving are daughters, Gladys, wife of Willard Benner, Quakertown, Elaine wife of Jerome Trexler, Coopersburg, sisters Anna Weaver, Allentown & Harriet Camp, Jefferson City, Missouri, grandchildren Valann Budischak, Shelley Rawley, Wade Trexler, Todd Trexler, great-grandchildren, Nathan, Megan, Lena, Zachary, Benner, Tyler, Kyle, Amy. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wed. Sept. 1 in Trinity Great Swamp UCC, Spinnerstown. Interment church cemetery. Calling hour at church Wed 10 - 11 am.
