Theodore P. Bannister, 82, of Philadelphia, died Saturday December 29, 2012 in St. Luke's - Quakertown. He was the husband of the late Naomi (Duncan) Bannister. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Elbert and Agnes (Woods) Bannister. Theodore was a Temple University Graduate with Associates in Science. He graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 1949. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Philadelphia where he served as an usher. Theodore was a Police Office with the Philadelphia Police Department for 30 years before retiring in 1984. He was currently employed as a site manager with AlliedBarton Security Services. He was member of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War, where he was rewarded various decorations and medals such as a Parachute Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service- United Nations Service, Combat Infantry Badge, a Bronze star and a Purple Heart. He is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Bannister of Philadelphia and his long time companion Hazel Smith. He was preceded in death by his daughter Anna Bannister Services will be held at 10:00 AM January 4, 2013 in Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 5200 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19141.
