Scott Lee Sullivan

Scott Lee Sullivan born January 26, 1964, of Leroy West Sullivan and Carol Ann Bellingar, went with God on February 8th, 2024, with his children by his side. He is survived by his children Michael John Coen, Candice Leigh Dugan, and Ariel Ann Mollohan. Scott’s greatest pride was being a grandfather to Madalynne Mae Coen, Gavin and Colton Dugan, and Thomas, Abel, and Harley Mollohan.

Born in Tampa, Florida Scott enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 19 on October 5th, 1983, as he enjoyed the ocean and was interested in traveling the world. Following his training with the Great Lakes Naval Training Center he was transferred to the Philadelphia Navy Yard. It was here that he met his wife Kathryn and his eldest son Michael John shortly before getting stationed in Jacksonville, Florida. After completing his Navy contract, he moved home to Tampa and began to raise a family. On October 18th, 1986 Corey Patrick was born but unfortunately his life was short lived. In spite of this tragedy two years later in September of 1988 their first daughter was born, Candice Leigh “Scooby” Sullivan followed in October of 1993 with their youngest daughter Ariel Ann Sullivan, a name he was proud to have chosen and has famously told the story of him bursting through the door shouting “Ariel”. And that is who our Dad was, a storyteller, a proud parent, a musician, a mechanic, a little bit of everything rock-and-roll. He will be remembered as singing loudly with the windows down, the Eagles turned on blast, and banging out the drums on the steering wheel. He will be remembered for his famous stories about his time in the Navy, many summer days spent in the Florida heat playing with his brothers, the day his father saved his life lifting a car that had fallen on him, or traveling to antique shows with his mother, a tradition carried on through generations. His story is his legacy, the children and grandchildren he leaves behind to continue telling his stories and all the new ones he has made since. We should not be remembered for the obstacles we’ve overcome but rather who we are now that we've overcome them. He will be remembered as Daddy, Grandaddy, Friend, Son of God and Veteran.
