Samuel Odom

d. January 1, 2015

Samuel Lee Odom, born January 30, 1940 was a kind soul. He lost his long fight with cancer on October 20, 2015. He was a true fighter, having struggled with many medical setbacks throughout his life, including a heart transplant. Despite his medical battle, he continued to have a positive outlook on life. He was known by many nurses and doctors as a favorite patient and will be missed dearly by many. Sam dedicated many hours of his free time to volunteer work at the Trumbauersville Fire Company. He very much enjoyed spending his time there with his many friends. He would always stand up for what he believed to be right and he would defend those he loved. He enjoyed teasing his wife, Linda, about pretty much anything he could, as she would tease him back. They were married on September 28, 2001 and have shared fourteen years of love. He wasn't often one for many words, but his facial expressions and eye rolls always told you exactly how he felt. His heart may have had its issues but it had plenty of room for love. Sam was proud of his years of service to our country in the U.S. Army. He had a large family who he always supported: sons, Samuel Lee Roberts, James Jayson Michael Odom; daughters, Jackie Bryant, Michelle L. Odom; step-children, Jill (David) Bohrer, Joann (Guy) Kramer, Jonathan (Jung Ja) Swavely; brother, James Odom; grandchildren, Shaakur Bryant Collins, Steffon Bryant Collins, Jusef Bryant Collins, Trenton Cron, Trey Cron, Taylor Cron, Tyler Cron, Nevae Odom, Keondre Lopez Odom; step-grandchildren, Isaac Bohrer, Allison Bohrer, Ben Bohrer, Olivia Bohrer, Daniel (Paula) Kramer, Robert Kramer, Melissa Kramer, and Joshua Swavely. Sam was predeceased by a daughter, Samantha Odom; step-son, James Swavely; step-grandson, Joshua Bohrer; and wife, Annette Odom. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sat. Oct. 24 at Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1 Luther Lane, Trumbauersville. A calling hour will precede the service from 2:00-3:00 PM at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Upper Bucks SPCA, 60 Reservoir Road, Quakertown, PA 18951 or to Hahnemann University Hospital, Coronary Critical Care Unit, 230 North Broad Street, Philadelphia PA 19102.
