Ruth Smith

Ruth L. Smith, 92, of Doylestown passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on December 30, 2022. She was born in Center Valley, PA on August 30, 1930 to the late John and Leah (Kohler) Bleam. She was the loving wife of the late James B. Smith for 48 years until his passing. She was the lead cook at the White Horse Hotel in Sellersville for over 35 years. She also baked and cooked for the Sines Produce roadside stand on Diamond St. in Sellersville for many years. She was famous for her pot pie. Ruth was an avid gardener and baker, and loved making cookies for her family. She was a die-hard Phillies fan. Ruth collected dolls of all sorts. She spoiled the birds in her yard with constant food and enjoyed the birdwatching that resulted. She enjoyed playing board games and card games. Most days she could be found putting puzzles together, doing word searches, or crossword puzzles. She also thoroughly enjoyed a good game of Bingo.

Ruth is survived by her children Debra (Richard) Eister, Phillip (Cathy) Joseph, Rebecca (Richard) Klinedinst, and Jody Cooper; son-in-law Robert Sine; daughter-in-law Cynthia Joseph; brother John Bleam; 31 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; best friend Valerie Hager; and many other loving family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents; husband; former husband Phillip Clyde Joseph Sr.; children Stephanie Sine and Steven Joseph; and sisters Evelyn, Janet, Anna, and Jane.

All are invited on Saturday, January 21 to a visitation from 11am-1pm and a memorial service at 1pm, both at Faith Church of Sellersville, 700 N. Main St, Sellersville, PA 18960.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
