Ruth L. Gano, 97, of Quakertown, passed away Sun. Mar. 12th at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center. Born in Bucks County, she was the daughter of the late David S. Longacre and Lottie M. Mohr. She was the second of six children. She married Clyde S. Gano Jr. on March 25, 1944. Ruth graduated from business college. She worked at Houser Chevrolet, Bethlehem, before WWII and at Lehigh Structural Steel, Bethlehem, during the war. She also served as a nurse's aide at Fort Bliss, TX from April 1944 through to the end of the war. For many years, she was an active member of Bethany Mennonite Church in Quakertown and later United Mennonite Church, Quakertown. She was also an avid gardener, loving to work both in the vegetable garden and her flower beds. She is survived by her only child, Clyde S. Gano III; grandchild, Jeffrey David Gano; and younger brother, David. Services will be held 11:00 AM Fri. Mar. 17th at United Christian Fellowship, 180 W Thatcher Rd., Quakertown. A visitation will precede the service from 10:30-11:00 at the church. Interment in Flatland Mennonite Cemetery.
