Russell E. Ziegler III

Russell E. Ziegler III, age 58, of Hopwood, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 25, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown, PA.

He was the significant other of Stephanie Schmeltzer, of 13 years.

He was the spouse of Nancy Ziegler, with whom he shared 23 years of marriage and was blessed with two daughters.

Born in Sellersville, PA he was a son of Russell Ziegler Jr. and Dolores Fuhrman Nyce.

Russell graduated from William Allen High School in 1985.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisher and enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler. He was involved in many poker leagues and tournaments, along with Stephanie. Russell loved coaching girl's softball for the Cementon and Coplay Associations. He was a die-hard New York Giants and Michigan Wolverines football fan. He loved animals, including his dogs, Remington and Dixie. He was a Big-Foot enthusiast, that each one of us has questioned at one time or another. His main goal in life was to make people laugh and feel loved and welcomed.

He was employed as a drywaller for many years and was a partner in L&N Drywall, for 20 years.

In addition to Stephanie and Nancy, he will be dearly missed by Megan Ziegler (daughter), Tara Ziegler (daughter), Dolores Nyce (mother), wife of Dennis Nyce (stepfather), Carl Ziegler (brother) and wife, Carol Ziegler, and Heather Kopp (sister). He is also survived by an aunt and uncle, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his maternal grandmother, Ruth Fuhrman, maternal granddad and mom-mom, Roy and Florence Fuhrman.

You are invited to visit with Russell's family and friends for his Celebration of Life between 1pm - 4pm on Sunday, February 18. Lunch will be provided. This will be held at Silver Creek Athletic Association, 2943 PA-212, Hellertown, PA 18055. 

Contributions in his memory may be made to ASPCA  or Wounded Warrier Project.
