With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Roderic Smith, who passed away on August 21, 2023. He was a pillar of strength, kindness, and wisdom to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A devoted family man, Roderic shared his passions for fishing, bird watching, and marksmanship with his loved ones, leaving a legacy of shared moments in the great outdoors. His eyes would light up with excitement as he cast his line into the water, identified a rare bird in flight, or honed his shooting skills. These pursuits brought joy and tranquility to his life, and he generously shared them with his wife, Patricia, and his children, Gregory and Megan.

Beyond his hobbies, Rod was a loyal husband who exemplified unwavering commitment and devotion. He cherished his marriage to Patricia, providing a living example of love and partnership for all who witnessed their bond. As a father, he instilled invaluable life lessons in Gregory and Megan, shaping them into the individuals they are today.

Perhaps his most cherished role was that of a phenomenal grandfather to Beau, Holly, Indi, and Pierce. Rod imparted his wealth of knowledge and life skills to the younger generation, teaching them the importance of patience, respect for nature, and the joy of shared experiences. His legacy lives on in the memories he created with his grandchildren, ensuring that his teachings will be passed down through the ages.

As we bid farewell to Roderic, our hearts ache with the void his absence leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
