Robert Louis Lande

February 1, 1938 — June 12, 2024

Sellersville

Robert Louis Lande, 86, passed away on June 12, 2024 at his home in Sellersville. Bob was the loving husband of Lydia (Buck) Lande for 21 years. Bob is survived by his wife, sons Eric (Diana) Lande and Jon (Maria) Lande, stepson Brandon (Gayle) Kowalewski, grandchildren Peter, James, C.J., and Alexandra Lande, and Sean Kowalewski, and his cousin Nancy Clark Strauch, and many other loving family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his first wife Charlotte, and his cousins Thomas and Dennis Clark, and Sylvia Clark Collazzo.

Bob was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 1, 1938 to the late Louis and Harriet (Ericson) Lande. Some of Bob's fondest memories in childhood were going to Coney Island and to Brooklyn Dodgers games, playing baseball with his cousin Tommy, and the fun he had as a Boy Scout and a Sea Scout. During Bob's childhood, his aunt and her 4 children moved in with Bob and his parents, and the cousins were raised as siblings.

While studying Accounting at Rider College in Trenton, NJ, Bob met his first wife, Charlotte Elsaesser. They built a loving life together spanning 42 years and they were blessed with 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and several successful business ventures. In 1989, Bob and Charlotte founded the Yardley Office of Burgdorff Realtors, which later grew to be affiliated with the international real estate company ERA.

Bob and Charlotte enjoyed spending time in the Poconos and in the early 1970s became members of a vacation community known as The Hideout. Here they developed lifelong friendships with people that can best be described as members of the family. In true Robert Lande fashion, he became one of the first Presidents of the Property Owners' Association.

Bob was a firm believer in giving back to the community and served in board-level roles with The Trenton Club, Boheme Opera Company, The Trenton YMCA, Mercer County Family of YMCA's, Lower Makefield Boy Scout Troop, Trenton Jaycees, The Children's Home Society of New Jersey and Bucks County and the Trenton Rotary Club. In recognition for his contributions to the Trenton Area YMCA's, in 2002, Bob was honored with a Director of Emeritus title.

Following the passing of Charlotte, Bob embarked on a 22-year relationship with his second wife, Lydia, with whom he would enjoy the rest of his life. Together, Bob and Lydia enjoyed travel, concerts, theater, dining out, and entertaining. They enjoyed time spent in North Carolina and liked Williamsburg and seafood in Connecticut. Socializing with friends and family was a source of joy. During this time, Bob became a board member of the Brookstone Condominium Association, a role he continued until early 2024.

Bob lived a full life that cannot possibly be adequately summarized here. He touched the lives of so many people during his lifetime. Bob loved his family, both locally and extended, and held a place in his heart for those rare individuals that became referred to as family. And Bob was adored by all these people whose lives he touched. Bob Lande is the definition of a life well lived.
