Robert Arthur Edward Fulford 1938 - 2018 Bob was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Edward and Lola Mary (Sylvain) Fulford (both deceased). He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Jones), and six children from his first wife Elizabeth (Klosterman) now deceased: Son Joseph and wife Leigh Ann and their children Virginia (and husband Harrison), Perry, and Henry; Son Edward and wife Martha and their children Kathryn, Sarah, Luke, and Gabriel; Daughter MaryBeth and husband Mark Evans and their children Phillip (and wife Emma), Preston, and Elizabeth; Son John and wife Jacqueline and their children Jenna, Jessica, and Jon Paul; Son Donald and wife Jennifer and their children Austin and Carley; and Son Robert and wife Jodi and their child Rose. He is also survived by three step-children: Son Mark and wife Debria Jones; Son Barry and wife Dana Jones and their children Alyssa, Kevin, and Erin; Daughter Vicki and husband James Casey and their children Taylor and Darby. He is also survived by his sister Joan Fetterman and predeceased by sister Hope Blair and brother James Fulford-all from the Detroit area. For over 30 years, Bob worked as a Human Resources Manager in several companies in Oklahoma, Michigan, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. Prior to this he spent three years in the Army Security Agency (ASA). He retired from Amplifier Research in Souderton, PA. He led an active life outside his profession and volunteered with many organizations: Boy Scouts (over 30 years in four states), Kiwanis, Lions, Red Cross, Knights of Columbus, Junior Achievement, various youth soccer groups, and the United Way. He also was a volunteer emergency medical technician with Upper Saucon Volunteer Ambulance and a volunteer fire policeman and first responder with the Upper Saucon Volunteer Fire Department #1. He helped design the new fire station and served as president of USVFD for eight years. At age 64, he became a certified volunteer Fire Fighter and Fire Police Officer. Bob was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary church in Colesville, PA, and in Oklahoma Bob served as a Catholic Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) teacher at St John of Nepomuk church. He graduated from De La Salle High School in Detroit. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Oklahoma City University and a Professional in Human Resources certificate from Villanova University. Over the years, he loved to teach kids by telling stories. He has written many works drawn from these stories: "An Essay on Early Man"; a play about Moses at Mt Sinai; a fable about how America was founded; a condensed summary of 500 Indian tribes, nations, and confederations; a book of jokes, skits, and stories compiled from his years in scouts and youth organizations; and a book of articles to help those starting a career in Human Resources. He has also written an autobiography for his children and 21 grandchildren about his life and experiences. He had two favorite songs: "Be Not Afraid, for I Am with You Always" and "You Have a Friend in Me." Bob was a man who was never idle-his strength, determination, and courage remain a true inspiration to all who knew and loved him. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem, PA, with a viewing from 10:00 am until the time of services. There will be a viewing from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday, December 3, at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, PA. Interment will be private and at the discretion of the family.
