Robert David Christman, age 81, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital, Allentown. Born December 31, 1937 in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Alton and Geraldine (Repley) Christman. Robert served his country with honor in the United states Air Force. Robert enjoyed volunteering at many social clubs over the years. He was passionate about fund raising for those in need. Whether it was food, Christmas gifts or for a local family, he was ready to organize an event, cook and serve. He spent much effort with The Ronald McDonald House in Delaware helping to raise funds for the construction and feeding the families. Robert loved the outdoors and went on many trips to Canada with his son in law Mike to fish and out on a boat deep sea fishing. Robert spent many years camping at Smith's Landing near Rehoboth Beach with friends and his daughter's family. He belonged to and served on boards for FOE, VFW, American Legion, Knights of Columbus and was a Mason. Upon moving to Bethlehem with his daughter in 2017, he enjoyed The West Side Republican Club, The American Legion and The Rosemont. Robert is survived by: daughter Barbara Thompson (significant other Don); grandchildren Allisin (husband Andrew), Kiersten (husband Jonathan), Breanna, and Shannon; great-grandchildren David, Cadence, and Seth; and sisters Barbara Holst (husband Rev. Frederick), and Jane Harding. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: son Robert C. Christman; and brothers Alton and Ronald Christman.
