Robert Boyd

d. January 1, 2015

Mr. Robert Lee Boyd, son of the late Arthur and Willie Mae Boyd was born April 20, 1932 in Greensboro, NC. God in all His splendid glory saw fit to call him home at Phoebe Richland on Sunday, January 11, 2015, after a courageous 17 year battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was educated in the public school in Alexandria VA. The family relocated to New York in 1948 and he enlisted in the United States Army in 1950 during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1959. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Doylestown, Fountainville, PA. He was the husband of Patricia Jane (Roberts) Boyd for 46 years. Robert was the loving father of five sons, Jeffrey Roberts (Thelisie) of Philadelphia, Henri Severe, of Quakertown, Alonzo Roberts (Linda) of Bethlehem, Donald Roberts (Jane) of Whitehall and Donald Sands of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Richele Brisbon (Ashby), and Patricia Roberts of Lansdale. "Pop Pop" and "Poppy", as he was affectionately called will also be missed by his eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn his loss is his sister, Josephine Butler of Jamaica Queens, NY; his brothers'-in-laws, Silas Roberts (Mildred) of Quakertown, Robert Roberts, Sr. of East Greenville; and his sisters'-in-laws, Anna Jones and Myrtle Colon of Quakertown, and Loretta Lewis of Atlanta, GA. Additionally, an extended family of nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends will cherish his memories. Robert was predeceased by his two brothers, Arthur and Walter Boyd, a sister, Bessie Blow and his son, Robert Sands. All who knew Bobby will remember his big smile, his laugh, his love of dancing with his whistle, volleyball in the backyard, horseshoes, and his flower gardens.
