Richard Mcellroy

Richard S.R. "Dick" McEllroy, 82, of Center Valley died Wed. Dec. 30th at the home of his daughter. He was the husband of the late Joyce (Wieder) McEllroy. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Raymond and Emma (Wieder) McEllroy. He served in the U.S. Air Force from the Korean War through Operation Desert Storm, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1991. He was a longtime member of the Upper Saucon Vol. Fire Company and an associate member of the Upper Saucon Ambulance Corps. He and his wife enjoyed polka dancing and spent many years dancing at various events. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Blue Church, Coopersburg. Surviving are his children, Scott McEllroy, wife Michele of Coopersburg, Tammy McEllroy of Coopersburg and Timothy McEllroy of Fountain Hill; grandchildren, Carissa, Madison, Lea, Mason, Ashley and Jon; great grandchildren, Raina and Ezra; sister, Winifred Pfinstel; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, William, Raymond and Gilbert and sisters, Alverta Schwoyer and Anna Carvis. Services will be held 1:00 PM Thurs. Jan 7th at Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown. A calling will precede the service from 11:00-1:00. Interment in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Coopersburg.
