Richard Andrew "Dick" May, Sr., age 83, died Sun. Apr. 26, 2020, at Valley Manor Nursing & Rehab, Coopersburg. Born Nov. 18, 1936, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Edwin H. and Ethel (Keuhner) May, and the husband of Doris Theresa (Dries) May, to whom he was married 62 years at the time of his passing. Earning his bachelor's degree from Moravian College, and his master's in education from Lehigh University, Dick was employed as a history teacher for Southern Lehigh School District, retiring in 1984. In school, he was a member of the Sigma Phi Omega fraternity. Earlier in his life, one of Dicks proudest achievements was receiving the Desales Medal as a member of the soprano section of the boys' choir of Church of the Nativity, in Fountain Hill. Later, he and Doris were active members of the Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, in Coopersburg. In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by: sons Richard May, Jr. (wife Karen), and Eric May (wife Kathleen); daughter Lisa Ebert (husband Robert); grandchildren Lynn, Robyn, Amber, Erin, Alyson, Kaitlyn, Jamie, and Heather; and 11 beloved great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by grandson Andrew May. Services and interment will be private and at the discretion of the family.
