Richard Bernard Kelly, 89, of Quakertown, passed away on January 31, 2024. He was born in Philadelphia on January 23, 1935 to the late James and May T. (Thomas) Kelly. Richard was an avid gardener, bird watcher, hiker, traveler, baker, reader, photographer, camper, and more. He was the youngest of 4 siblings and a graduate of Overbrook High School. He worked at Street-Linder Inc. Opticians of Philadelphia in the Lens Surface Grinding Department from the age of 18 until the day he retired. He spent most of his time in a garden, nature, hiking, traveling to many cities and countries, going to the movies, and reading.
Richard is survived by his sister Patricia Lumley (Kelly) & sister-in-law Charlotte Kelly; nieces and nephews Kevin (Lori) Lumley, Terrance (Liza) Lumley, Irene (Steven) Mohler, Jane; great nieces and nephews Matthew, Thomas, Amanda, Raelyn, Patrick & Ishmael Lumley, James; and many other loving family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents; and siblings Margarite Mohler, James B. Kelly (Charlotte), brother-in-law and Henry Lumley.
All are invited on Saturday, June 1, 2024 to Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown, PA 18951 to a visitation from 12-1pm and a memorial service at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard's name can be made to the Arbor Day Foundation.
