Richard D. Harris, 56, of Coopersburg, formerly of Quakertown died Sunday, May 16, in his home. He was the husband of Betty Jo (Grabill) Harris. They were married for 36 years last October. Born in Doylestown, PA he was the son of Dr. Richard A. and Earla P. (Duckworth) Harris of Pennsburg. He was chairman of the Lower Milford Township Board of Supervisors for eight years. He was a service manager for Plaster Equipment Inc, Bethlehem a number of years. Previously, he worked at Royal Truck & Equipment, Coopersburg and had been a school teacher at Upper Bucks Christian School, Sellersville for 20 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Bob Jones University and furthered his education at Harvard University. Surviving with his wife, sons, Richard A., wife Amanda, Menifee, CA, Nathan P., wife Amanda, Northampton; daughters, Tara J. Lopez, husband Rudy, Macungie, Brittany D. Harris, Allentown; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Allen, Melvin; sisters, Barbara Peev, Cinthia Van Osten, Rebecca Frederick, Cathy Harris. Richard and Betty Jo had provided a loving home over the years for a total of 107 foster children. Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 22nd at Bethel Baptist Church, Sellersville.
