Raymond A. Hinkle, 88, of Sellersville, died Thurs. Aug 9 in Rockhill Mennonite Community. He was the husband of Marian (Reed) Hinkle, with whom he celebrated 64 years of marriage last September. Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late John and Mae (Detweiler) Hinkle. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Perkasie, and served on various committees. He was a veteran of WWII, captured at the Battle of the Bulge and spent six months in a P.O.W camp until liberated by the Russians. He was an architect who retired from the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Surviving with his wife, are sons Torry and wife Linda of Quakertown, & Jerry of Green Lane, Pa., daughters, Cindy Kornsey and husband Charlie Reich of Telford, Lori and husband Ed Stern of Martinsburg, PA, and Sharon and husband Don Moyer of Hilltown, PA; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters: Lorraine Detweiler of Telford, Dorothy and husband Orvis Barndt of Pennsburg and Shirley Nase of Telford. He was preceded in death by son Rodney and brother J. Paul. A Funeral Service will be held 3 PM Sat., Aug. 11 in the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Sat.1 - 3 pm. Interment in South Perkasie Evangelical Cemetery.
