Raymond W. Detweiler, 88, of Blooming Glen, PA, died peacefully on Fri., Oct. 14th at LifeQuest Nursing Center in Quakertown. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Grace (Swartley) Detweiler, who passed away in 2015. He was born Dec. 28, 1927 on the Detweiler Homestead in Bedminster Twp. He was one of twelve children born to the late Clayton R. and Alice (Wismer) Detweiler. As a young man, he worked for Paul Kriebel. He also worked for Dublin Feedmill, Souderton Farm Bureau, and Davis Feed Mill in Perkasie. After he retired he had his own lawn mowing business. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he and his boys loved to ride bikes together. Raymond was a member of Deep Run Mennonite Church East. He is survived by his sons, Laverne L. Detweiler and Dean A. Detweiler; brothers Arthur, Elmer, and Chester Detweiler; and sisters Cora Longacre and MariAn Nyce. He was preceded in death by his brothers Lloyd, Warren, Claude, and Clayton Detweiler and his sisters Ella Mae Landis and Ruth Gahman. Services will be held 7:00pm at Deep Run Mennonite Church East, 350 Kellers Church Rd., Perkasie on Thurs. Oct. 20th. A calling hour will precede the service from 6:00-7:00pm at the church. Interment at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Raymond's name to Deep Run Mennonite Church East.
