Ralph L. Myers Jr.

September 24, 1947 — November 19, 2023

Quakertown

Ralph L. Myers, Jr. passed away on November 19, 2023. He passed of natural causes surrounded by his loving family. He would say that his earthly sorrows are over. Ralph was born on September 24, 1947 to proud parents Helen (Moran) and Ralph Myers, Sr. in Margaretville, New York.

He is survived by his three children Michelle Krueger (Derek-deceased), Lonnie Myers (Karen) and Rebecca Hackman (Tom), three grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Erik Myers (Kendall), Kiersten Myers (Jeff), Jaelynn Hackman and a great grandbaby on the way. He is survived by his sister Carole (Jerry) Weigel and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins including Pattie Kelder, Andy Kelder and Sharon Guenther (Wayne).

Ralph was a proud combat veteran of the Vietnam War, serving honorably in the Army, 4th Infantry. He earned the Purple Heart but refused to accept it so as not to upset his mother.

He was an avid woodsman who loved fishing, hunting and trapping since his childhood in the Catskill Mountains of New York. He loved country line dancing, volunteering at the Ridge and Valley Rod and Gun Club and driving his beloved red Jeep. He often quoted the Serenity Prayer and loved the Train of Life poem which he requested his children read upon his death. We will miss Dear Ol' Dad's birthday and holiday phone calls (playing Santa to generations of kids), Hallmark cards, wry sense of humor and all of the stories!

In honor of Dad, please take a moment to read the Serenity Prayer and Train of Life.

There will be a service held on May 17, 2024 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA. Dad had one request for his service, that taps be played. Honor Guard will play taps and the Army will do a flag folding in honor of Dad's service.

Donations can be made to Ridge and Valley Rod and Gun Club in Coopersburg, PA, The Vietnam Veterans of America Agent Orange Education Program or Dementia Society of America.
