Philip Wedgie, Jr.

Philip Wedgie, a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on October 16,2023 and will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

Born on November 25, 1963, in Plainfield NJ.  Phil dedicated his life to serving his country. He joined the Air Force in 1983 and served for 25 years before retiring as a Technical Sergeant. During those 25 years, Phil was deployed many times, serving in operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, and the liberation of Kuwait among several other tours to the Middle East.  After his military retirement, Phil continued to work for the Department of Defense as a civilian.

Phil's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends.  He was known for his wit, honor, and loving nature. Phil’s love and support were unwavering. From throwing themed parties each summer for his grandkids to showing up for those around him. Phil's incredible ability to make people laugh and feel at ease, his quick wit, and his infectious laughter will be deeply missed. Phil never met a stranger.

Philip is survived by his son, Luke, and daughter-in-law, Seana; his grandchildren, Jaycee, Natalie, Penelope, Luke Jr., and Sean; his siblings, Joseph, Jeannette, Lisa, and Therese;  and his nephew and nieces, Kevin, Kimberly, Gina, and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Wedgie; and parents, Philip and Joan Ann Wedgie.
