Philip D. Miller passed away on Friday, December 8th, 2023, at his home in Allentown, PA. He was 100 years old.
Phil was born in 1923 to Martha and Paul Miller in Hanover, PA. He graduated from Eichelberger High School, where he excelled in athletics and was known by the nickname of Moose, for his size and prowess on the gridiron. He loved sports his entire life. He was an avid golfer and attended the Senior Olympics as a Table Tennis player.

He was a WWII veteran with the US Army, serving his country with pride in both England and in France.

Phil began his banking career in 1941 and attended evening school, graduate school and countless courses and seminars throughout his life. Settling in Quakertown, PA in 1966 he served as President and CEO and then Chairman of the Board of the Quakertown National Bank, his tenure lasting over 40 years.

Phil believed in a life of service and of giving back. His proudest cause was funding scholarships at Muhlenberg College for single mothers in need of aid to pursue their dreams of a higher education. He also was a member of the Kiwanis Club, he was Chairman of the Board of the Upper Bucks YMCA, he was a past president of the Quakertown Community Hospital, he served on the Board of Directors of Life Quest, was a member of The American Legion and many others. 

Phil is survived by three stepchildren, Pamela Kelly of Brooklyn, NY, James (his wife Lea) Kelly of Sharpsburg, GA, and Kerwin (Biz) Kelly of California, two nieces, Prudence Miller Keffer of Hanover, PA and Andrea Miller Theisson of Gettysburg, PA, as well as six grandchildren, one grandniece, one grandnephew, and three great-grandchildren.

Phil was married and widowed three times, to Mary Gulden Miller, Constance Lewis Miller, and to Nancy Kelly. He is also predeceased by his parents, his brother, Robert Miller, his stepson Stephen Kelly and a grandson, Kyle Kelly.

Phil lived every day with positivity and determination, he was a kind, gentle and peaceful man who loved his family. He enriched the lives of all who knew him, and the world will be a diminished place without him.
