Norma Mitzel Blewett, 84, of Quakertown, died Sat., May 25, in St. Luke's Hospice, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Joseph W. Blewett. Born March 29, 1929 in Red Lion, PA, Norma was the daughter of the late Charles and Edna (Hake) Mitzel. She was a graduate of Red Lion High School and of West Chester University, where she met her husband in the college orchestra. Norma and Joseph were married July 28, 1951. Norma taught kindergarten at the Quakertown Elementary School, retiring in 1987. She was also an accomplished flutist, performing with the Ambler Symphony for many years. In her retirement years, Norma and Joseph enjoyed traveling, especially Caribbean cruises and trips to Hawaii. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Quakertown. Survived by: Husband; son Ray Thomas (Blewett) wif,e Gayle of Carlisle; Lynn Hasson, husband Mark, of Quakertown; grandchildren Laurie Ricketts and her husband Steven, Thomas Hasson, and Katie Thomas, and a great-granddaughter, Makayla Ricketts. She was proceeded in death by her sister, Madeline M. Keeports. A viewing will be held Thurs., May 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown. Services will be held 11 am Friday May 31 in St. John's Lutheran Church, 19 S. 10th St., Quakertown with a calling hour from 10am until the service. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, Quakertown. Memorial contributions in Norma's memory may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, P. O.
