Merrill R. Foley, age 73, of Quakertown died Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. Merrill was born and raised in Philadelphia and graduated from Dobbins Vocational Technical School. He moved to Quakertown in 1973 where he was a past member of the Milford Twp. Lions Club, helping establish the Milford Twp. Ambulance Company. Merrill was a lifetime member of the Milford Twp. Volunteer Fire Company, serving as trustee and treasurer. He worked as a machinist at CerMac Inc. in Telford. He invented and held a patent for the Rescue 7 Fire & Rescue Tool. Merrill was also a member and past treasurer of the September 11 Foundation and helped restore the 9-11 truck. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, playing golf, collecting globes and traveling. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Pat Foley (nee Raymond) of Quakertown; his children, Lisa and Rich Korn and David and Jodie Foley, both of Quakertown and his grandchildren, Corinne, Heather, Dylan, Alex, Garrett, Briana, Shauna and Mason. Merrill was predeceased by his sister Laura, his brothers Bob and Tom and his twin brother, Wayne. Relatives and friends may visit with the family during Viewing Hours from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in the Naugle Funeral Home, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown. The Funeral Service will be held at 7 PM, immediately following the Viewing Hours. Inurnment private.
