Meredith “Mindy” Metzger, 60, of Coopersburg passed away with family by her side on December 3rd, 2022, at Cedar Crest Hospital in Allentown. Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Barbra Metzger. Having a New Years birthday, she was the first baby born in Newark, getting her picture on the front page of the local newspaper in January of 1962.
In her elementary school years, Mindy moved to Doylestown and eventually graduated from Central Bucks East High School in 1980. She continued her education at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where she earned her degree. After college, she pursued a career in graphic arts where she met her husband Pat, working for his family’s printing business, Royal Printing. Making a great impact on the customers and many contributions to the company, she eventually became Royal Printing’s Creative Director. Mindy possessed an incredible work ethic, evidenced by her continued career growth at Tokai Financial Services where she worked as a Marketing Manager. While she had a relentless passion for excellence and growth in her career, she also balanced and prioritized the needs of her family. She was a devoted mom who took great care in supporting her daughters’ interests and hobbies and was committed to raising them to be good people with strong values.
She was uniquely talented in the arts and also possessed a passion for cooking, gardening, drawing and photography. She took inspiration from everyday life and transformed it into something more, something beautiful and most often, something delicious.
Mindy was a genuine, kind and caring soul. She was an exceptional listener who made anyone she spoke with feel both seen and heard. She also had a special place in her heart for all animals and over the years, rescued many dogs and cats and gave them a loving home. Her empathy and generosity were always extended to those in need. Mindy will be missed dearly by her husband, Pat, who together shared 33 years of marriage; her daughters, Carolyn Metzger-Pugh (Harry Overly) and Lauren Metzger-McCabe (Michael Beaudry); and her sisters Barbara Clayton and Patricia Cotts.
The family is holding a celebration of life to honor Mindy at the brewery where Pat worked, Seven Sirens Brewing Company in Bethlehem, PA on December 17 from 11AM-1PM. More information can be found here .
