Melba R. Wark, 98, of Quakertown, died Wed., Oct. 12, in Lutheran Community at Telford. She was the wife of the late James Wark. Born in Quakertown, she was a daughter of the late Sylvanus, Jr. and Florence (Stoneback) Reider. A 1931 graduate of Quakertown High School. She enjoyed being a member of the championship womens basketball team and had an outstanding track record. Melba became a beautician and owned and operated the former Melba Shop, Quakertown. She was preceded in death by a son, Lee D. Wark of Sayre. Surviving: son Terry and wife Nancy of Quakertown, grandchildren: James Wark of Sayre, Michell Mancini, wife of Robert Mancini and Lee Wark Flanagan, of Limington, Me, daughter-in-law, Jane Wark of Sayre & ten great-grandchildren, two nieces Renee Horne and Becky Holsonback, and a nephew, Kent Fretz.. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Quakertown Union Cemetery.
