Margaret E. Walp of Quakertown passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 in Belle Haven Nursing Home. She was 96. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Walp. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Lewis D. and Margaret (Seagreaves) Ritter. Margaret was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She worked as a secretary for the former Yingst Nursing Home and the Quakertown Borough Manager. As a freelance typist, she worked for authors, teachers and students. Margaret was a life member of the Business and Professional Women, volunteered in the St. Luke's Hospital gift shop, and was secretary for the Quakertown Historical Society. She is survived by daughters Elizabeth Gass and husband Alban of Tinton Falls, NJ and Nancy Bosworth and husband Glenn of Quakertown. She was grandmother of Mark Fosbenner, Elaine Hirsch, Donna Brinze and Susan Gent and great-grandmother of Taylor and Travis Brinze, Zachary and Caleb Gent, Beatrice and Clarissa Hirsch. She was preceded in death by her sister, Annie Hersh and great-grandsons Austin and Stephen Gent. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 24 in Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service. 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown, where a calling hour will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Quakertown Union Cemetery.
