Mahlon Shelly III, 82, of Quakertown died Tues, Feb. 9 in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Sloyer) Shelly. Born in Collingsdale, he was the son of the late Mahlon Jr. and Elsie (Shellem) Shelly. He worked at Quakertown Farmers Market and delivered flowers for Always Beautiful Flower Shop and former Berry's Florist. Previously, he was a clerk for the former Lehigh Valley Railroad retiring in 1987. Mahlon was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Quakertown Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus for various families in town and Uncle Sam in different Quakertown Parades. Surviving: sons, Matthew of Allentown and Mitchell of Quakertown; grandson, Matthew Jr., great-granddaughter, Jezebelle; sister, Dorothy Stahler. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Tues., Feb. 15 at Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown.
