Mae Elizabeth "Betty" Koch, age 95, of Quakertown, PA passed away on September 18, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospice House in Bethlehem. She was the loving wife to the late Oscar E. Koch with whom she shared 67 years of marriage.
Born in Quakertown, April 1, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Alice (Biehn) Allison.
She graduated from Quakertown High School in 1943 and Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing in 1946.
Betty started her nursing career at the Tice Clinic. She then went back to school and earned her bachelor's degree from East Stroudsburg State College and became a school nurse for Quakertown Community School District retiring in 1994.
Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very active in her community. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church teaching Sunday school for 40 years. She was a member of the American Red Cross, the Quakertown Historical Society, and the Bucks County Public School Nurses Association. Betty enjoyed being a driver for Meals on Wheels, was a den mother for Cub Scouts, and could be found spending her summers enjoying the Quakertown Borough pool.
As retirees she and Oscar enjoyed many trips to foreign countries including Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Kenya, Spain, Russia, Scandinavia, Nova Scotia, the Canadian Rockies, and many other places in the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. She will surely be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her children Matt Koch, Todd Koch, Neal Koch, Lynn Welles (Lincoln) and Jill Kostenbader (Robert), and grandchildren Leah, Kyle, Evan and Loren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Russell Allison Jr. in 1944.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
