Lloyd Ray Gehman

Lloyd Ray Gehman of Quakertown passed away June 17 at the age of 94. Lloyd was the only son of Elliston and Minerva Gehman, also of Quakertown. He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Keller and Beth Gehman, and a son, Gary Gehman. Lloyd's beloved wife, Marian, predeceased him in 2001. He had two grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Lloyd and Marian were founding members of Calvary Church of Souderton, and much of their life's activities were centered on the church. Lloyd served as an usher and, for 40 years, was sound technician and recordist for the church's remote ministry. 

After completing electronics trade school in Chicago, Lloyd was employed for most of his working life as a TV and appliance repairman at Nicholas Hardware in Quakertown. During the 1960s, he worked as a technician at Kolsman Motors in Dublin, PA, employing skills he had learned in machine shop courses at Quakertown High School. Following his time at Kolsman, Lloyd was welcomed back to Nicholas Hardware where he stayed until his retirement in January of 1992. 

Lloyd and Marian were both fond of animals and had many pets through the years. They enjoyed traveling and socializing with extended family and friends in North Carolina, Arizona and Florida. Hawaii was also a favorite destination for the couple. Following Marian's death, Lloyd remained active in the church into his 80s. He continued to keep the house and was still driving, running errands and living independently until he fell ill in early June. 

A funeral service for Lloyd will be held at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, Ltd. 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown, PA, 18951 on Tuesday, June 25. Visitation to begin at 9:00 am, with the service commencing at 10:00 am, followed by a graveside service at Calvary Church cemetery.
