LeRoy E. Kooker, 81, of Quakertown died Sat. Jan. 12 in Independence Court. He was the loving husband of Carole (Shearer) Kooker for 58 years. Born in Richland Twp., he was a son of the late LeRoy S. and Viola (Etter) Kooker. He was a self-employed stone mason for 38 years before retiring. He also practiced the craftsmanship of blacksmithing, a skill taught to him by his grandfather, Harry T. Kooker, for most of his life. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting & gardening. In 1962, he built his family home located near his old homestead. LeRoy volunteered to serve in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Quakertown and the NRA. Surviving with his wife, sons, Steven, companion Nancy, Millmont, Jody, wife Debra, Quakertown, Scott, wife Sandy, Emmaus, and Eric, wife Stacey, Quakertown; daughter, Sue Deily, husband Bill, Quakertown; brother Charles, wife Elaine, Quakertown; sisters Ruth Clemmer & Grace Strunk, both Quakertown; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by siblings Donald, Raymond, Willard, Dorothy, Robert. Memorial service 11 am Wed Jan. 16 Trinity Lutheran Church, Quakertown. Call 10 - 11 am in church.
