Leonard Paparo

Leonard F. Paparo (Lenny Pep) Born in Philadelphia 1928 died August 20, 2020. Beloved husband of Barbara (nee Krasney) Devoted father of Leonard Adam and Linda Kress. Also survived by three grandchildren, Leonard, Lauren, Sarah and three great grandchildren Luke, Ethan, and William. Grew up in Philadelphia. Attended Southern High School. Studied music. Spent most of his life as a drummer with the Lenny Perna Trio and various other jazz groups. Playing mostly in and around the Philadelphia and New Jersey areas. He was inspired by the Big Band sounds of the forty's, fifty's, and sixties. Especially the music of Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, and Gene Krupa. His first love was his family. Second only to his music. Which he passed onto his children. Lenny spent his later years entertaining and cooking Italian food for his family and friends and listening to his beloved music. Especially Sinatra. (one of Kind) A life well lived. He will be dearly missed. Funeral Mass to be held Saturday August 29, 2020, 11:00 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown, PA 18940.
