Leon Ezra Ephross

Leon Ezra Ephross, 88, of Quakertown, PA, suddenly passed away on September 15, 2024. 

Born in Lynn, MA, Leon was the son of the late Jacob and Gussie (Cohen) Ephross. The family moved to Kennebunk, ME, where Leon graduated from Kennebunk High School in 1954. He was selected as his class salutatorian. Leon continued his education at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering. He relocated to Pennsylvania and was first employed as an industrial engineer at Merck, Sharpe & Dohme. In 1968, he started his own home-building business, Edison Builders, in Doylestown, PA. He was a founding member of the Bucks County Builders Association. He retired in 2015. 

Leon was a civil servant, having volunteered with the Lenape Valley Foundation, the Heart Club of Doylestown Hospital, and other community organizations. Leon’s passion for life extended well beyond his professional endeavors. He greatly enjoyed doing puzzles and playing card games with family, friends, and neighbors, and traveling with his wife across the USA and abroad. Above all else, Leon deeply loved his family and cherished the time spent with them. 

Leon will be dearly missed by his wife, Sally. Together they shared 41 loving years of marriage. In addition to his wife, Leon is survived by his children, son David Ephross, daughter Karen (Chris) Quinn; his stepchildren Dennis (Jean) Kressler, Cindy Brooks, Linda (Anthony) Ruggiero, and Woodrow “Jamie” Kressler; his sister Miriam Diane Edelstein; and many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was predeceased by his sister Lee Ephross. 

All are invited to visit with Leon's family on Saturday, October 19th, from 10:00 ~ 11:00AM, located at Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, Ltd. 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951. (215-536-3343) A memorial service will begin at 11:00AM.
