Kenneth Richard Mark

March 23, 1959 — February 8, 2024

Trumbauersville

Kenneth R. Mark passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on February 8, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Joanna Mell Mark and the loving father of Ashley and Cameron Mark, as well as the devoted step-father of Jesse Mell and Nathaniel Widelitz.

Ken was born in Oregon in 1959 and grew up in the Corvallis/Albany areas. He attended South Albany High School and went on to attend the University of Oregon. After two years, he was encouraged by his grandfather to pursue a career in the healthcare field and attended the Good Samaritan School of Nursing, graduating with an R.N. degree in 1984. He found his true calling as a hospice/palliative care nurse, ministering to those experiencing end of life illness. His warm, compassionate and empathetic care touched hundreds of lives - not only the lives of his patients but the lives of family and friends as well. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from LaSalle University in 2021. For the past seven years, he was employed by Lehigh Valley Health Network. He constantly strove to improve his knowledge and skills in hospice care. He cared deeply for the patients in his care, as well as their loved ones, and ministered to their healthcare needs, as well as emotional and spiritual needs.

Ken was also an accomplished runner. He participated in many marathons, often taking second and third place overall. He ran 6 miles a day before work and enjoyed a good workout at Planet Fitness.

Ken was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Joanna. They enjoyed taking long walks and going to Celtic events. They also were doting pet parents to their dog Stan.

A memorial service will be held on February 24 at 11 a.m. at Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 1811 Old Bethlehem Pike, Quakertown, PA. A visitation time will start at 10:30 a.m. before the service. Luncheon will follow. Burial will be private.
