Kenneth Cressman

Kenneth Frank Cressman, age 94, died Sunday, October 6, 2019, at home in Quakertown. Born January 23, 1925, in Quakertown, he was the son of the late George and Florence (Frank) Cressman, and husband of the late Dolores (Black) Cressman, to whom he was married for 71 years at the time of her passing in 2017. After graduating high school, Ken served his country with distinction in the United States Army Air Force during World War II as a member of the 34th Photo Reconnaissance squadron in Europe. A self-employed masonry contractor, Ken was especially gifted in brick and stone restoration of historical structures and was also a master carpenter and furniture maker. Photography was his hobby, taking thousands of photos, slides, portraits and vacation pictures, even developing his own photos in his darkroom. Active in his church, Ken sang in the choir, served on church council and the property committee and also taught Sunday School. Ken also loved his time speaking Pennsylvania German with his "Grundsow" buddies. He was a member of the Grundsow Lodsch Nummer Fierra on da Dohek. Kenneth is survived by: daughters Carol Edge (husband John), and Janet Stever (husband Gary); grandsons Michael Stever (wife Jessica), Christopher Stever, and Thomas Edge (wife Amanda); and great-grandchildren Maisie Edge, and Elise Stever. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sister Lucille Strine, and brother Norman Cressman. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 102 N. Hellertown Avenue, Quakertown. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until the service. Interment will follow at Quakertown Union Cemetery.
