Joseph Rhoades

Joseph L. "Tunnie" Rhoades, 83, of Quakertown, died Friday Feb. 22 in Valley Manor Nursing Home, Coopersburg. He was the husband of the late Lorraine V. (Weidemoyer) Rhoades. Born in Quakertown, he was the son of the late Joseph L. Sr. and Helen (Maugle) Rhoades. Joe owned his own painting and wallpaper business for more than 45 years. Prior to that, he was employed with the former Koder's grocery store. He was a member of Quakertown United Methodist Church. Surviving are his children; Chery Hoey, husband Daniel of Quakertown, Michael, wife Karen of Quakertown, and Stephen of Spinnerstown. A sister Lillian Neiman of Quakertown, 6 Grandchildren and 8 great children. He was pre-deceased by a brother William. A memorial service will be held Thursday Feb. 28 at 11 am in the Morning Star Church, 9th & Main Streets, Quakertown. The Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service is handling the arrangements.
