Joseph M. Myers, 86, a long time resident of Richland Twp., passed peacefully May 13th in Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice, Allentown. He would answer to many different names. He was called Jake by his phone company workers, Joe by his Quakertown friends, and Bagel by his Haycock friends. During his early years he worked as a boiler operator at the gas refineries. He joined the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and served on the USS Heerman as a Steam Boiler Technician. After the Navy, he worked for Bell Telephone as a line repairman. He retired from Verizon over twenty years ago. In retirement he liked deep-sea fishing and shooting pool. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Clara Myers, and his sisters, Grace and Elva. Services are private.
