John R. Szilagyi, 72, of Coopersburg, died Wed. Aug. 10th at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown. He was the husband of Lisabeth (Gordon) Szilagyi for 50 years. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late James and Ella (Maitz) Szilagyi. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. For many years, he was a teacher with the Germantown High School prior to his retirement. He was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Coopersburg. Surviving with his wife are his son, Ian, wife Trish of Nazareth; daughters, Jill Kulanko, husband Jim of Frederick, CO and Carlyn Mannino, husband Alessandro of Hellertown; grandchildren, Jake, Jordyn, Zane, Abby, Monica and Mirko; brothers, James Szilagyi, wife Nona and Robert Szilagyi; sister, Vicki Szilagyi, companion Thomas. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Szilagyi. Services will be held 11:30 AM, Fri. Aug. 12th at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 6782 N Main St, Coopersburg. A calling will precede the service from 10:30-11:30 AM at the church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
