John Mealing

John Anthony Mealing, age 73, of Wescosville, died Sat. Jan. 2, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Health Network - Cedar Crest Hospital, Allentown. Born Nov. 17, 1947, in Hazelton, he was the son of the late William and Mildred Mary (Tiglio) Mealing, and the husband of Karen L. (Benner) Mealing, to whom he was married 11 years. John served his country with distinction in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He would go on to be employed for 30 years by Lehigh Valley Dairy in Lansdale as a truck driver. Afterward, he would continue his passion and love for cars by working at Outten Chevrolet for past 6 years. John's love for his children and grandchildren never went unnoticed, creating ever lasting memories to cherish for many years to come. John could always be found with friends and family watching a Philadelphia Eagles or Phillies game, regardless of the score, it was truly about spending time together. Whether a drive in his truck away or a phone call, John was always there for his family. In addition to his wife, John is survived by: son John Mealing (wife Katie); daughter Tracey Grafton (husband Adam); grandchildren Ashley, Gabbie, Christian, and Peyton Mealing, and Emily and Brooke Grafton; sisters Mary Walton (husband Robert), JoAnn Stower (husband Michael), and Louise Mealing; stepdaughter Wendy Cicon; and stepgrandaughter Cloey Fishburn. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Mildred Mealing. Services and interment will be private and at the discretion of the family.
