Joan Smith

Joan V.K. "Breezy" Smith, 83, of Coopersburg, died Thursday, December 31st at her home. She was the wife of Alvin A. Smith for 35 years. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Kathryn (McLaughlin) Sooy Jr. She was a cashier for the former Super Fresh Market, Richboro. Surviving with her husband are her children, Kathy Melcher, husband Robert of Quakertown, David Knapp of Norristown, and Nancy Griffith of Bryn Mawr; grandchildren, Jennifer, Bob, Brian, Christina and Christopher; great grandchildren, Gavin, Anika, Keaton, Christopher, Nicholas, Ezra and Axel; sisters, Bette Fiore and Carole Dingas. She was predeceased by her brothers, Donald and Charles Sooy and sister, Claire Watson. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 8th at Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown. A calling will precede the service from 12:00-1:00 PM.
