Joan Elsa (Schuyler) Fischer, age 84, died Sun. Nov. 29, 2020, at St Luke's Hospital, Quakertown. Born July 30, 1936, in Doylestown, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lloyd and Amanda (Blechschmidt) Schuyler, and the widow of the late Henry Fischer. Joan was a graduate of Bloomsburg University, with her bachelor's degree in education. In the early 1960's he taught at the former Central Bucks High School (now C.B. WEST). In the late 1980s/early 90s, she was employed by Peddlers Village Lahaska and was Executive Housekeeper for their Golden Plough Inn. She was devoted guardian to a great many animals, particularly cats, and an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Eagles and Flyers. Joan is survived by: daughters Jeanne Deveney (husband Scott), and Julie Congdon (husband Bill); granddaughter Bridgette Deveney; sister Wendy Ring; and brother Ronald Schuyler. Services and interment will be private and at the discretion of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Joan's honor to an animal rescue organization of the donor's choice.
