Joan E. (Holliday) Bailey, age 77, died Friday. NOV. 8, 2019, at Statesman Health & Rehabilitation Center, Levittown, PA. Born Oct. 15, 1942 in Luzerne County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rev. William S. and Sarah E. (Brack) Holliday. Joan was married to Robert M. Bailey from July 16,1966 until his passing in February 2007. Joan was a loving homemaker, dearly loving her two children, she also helped care for countless other children with her in-home childcare. She always had an open door policy, and loved each child as her own. She was also an active member and Sunday school teacher at Quakertown United Methodist Church for many years. Joan could be found Thursday night at Eagle Craft Ceramics creating many beautiful pieces over the years. Later in life, Joan could be found watching a spirited game of football with her grandchildren, rooting for her New England Patriots, or cheering on her Boston Red Sox. Joan is survived by her children, son Matthew Bailey, wife Jodi, and daughter Krista Quintrell. Her pride and joy; grandchildren Evan, Braydon and Logan Quintrell, Madison, and Jay Bailey; along with her twin brother John Holliday, wife Judy; sisters-in-law Jeanette Holiday and Phyllis Bailey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in passing by: brothers Alan, William, Joseph, Donald, and Paul Holliday; and sister Sylvia Watkins. Her Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thurs., Nov. 14, at Quakertown United Methodist Church, 1875 Freier Rd, Quakertown. A visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will be private and at the discretion of the family at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Veterans Cemetery with her beloved husband. The family has requested, because of Joans love of children and giving spirit, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bucks County Toys for Tots, at PO Box 149, Milford Square, PA 18935, or by donating toys at any of their various drop-off locations (found at https://buckscountypa.toysfortots.org) in her memory.
