Jean C. Richardson, 81, of Quakertown passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 6th, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem, after a long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Wesley Richardson.
Born April 5, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen (Duna) Mandic. Raised in Haycock Township, Jean was the oldest of 8, followed by one sister and six brothers.
After graduation from Quakertown High School she attended Allentown School of Cosmetology. Jean worked as a waitress, hairdresser, and eventually had her own cleaning business. She took great pride in her work no matter what she was doing. She enjoyed sewing and making jewelry. She was very particular and always had accessories to match every outfit. Jean and Wesley took many camping trips and train rides. Time with family and friends was a priority for her. She did not miss an opportunity to chat with friends on the phone. Jean was an expert shopper and never passed up a chance to stop at a thrift store. Jean loved animals and was especially fond of her grand dog Dozer.
Jean had strong and unwavering faith in the Bible. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1975. She enjoyed sharing her Bible based hope with others. Her positive attitude coupled with the sure hope the Bible promises (Rev. 21: 3,4) enabled her to endure decades of serious and unrelenting health problems. She was determined to share the Bible’s good news by letter writing even in the last weeks of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Wesley Richardson; her daughters, Gwynn Vega (Roger) and Tracey Richardson (Brandon); her grandchildren Jessica Fosbenner, Leah Haney (Spencer), Zach Vega, and Austin Richardson (Cassie); great granddaughters Charlotte and Annabel Haney; her brothers, Mickey Mandic (Mary), Jerry Mandic (Julie), Steve Mandic (Kate), Ed Mandic (Kathy), Lou Mandic (Desiree), and many nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Bradley, and brother, Joe Mandic.
