James Spangler

September 13, 1977 — January 9, 2019

James Rodger "Jamie" Spangler, age 41, passed away at his home on January 9, 2019. He was born September 13, 1977 in Arlington, TX, and was the son of Richard S. Spangler and Patricia (Brand) Mitchell, and husband of Nikki (Hare) Spangler. Jamie was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hiking and fishing. He was also a creative soul who enjoyed his sugar with a splash of coffee, and expressed himself through drawing, painting, sculpture and landscaping, while listening to Aaron Lewis, Jack Johnson and Green Day. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his children. No one came above his love for them. He was a wonderful Dad who could turn into a big kid at the drop of a hat. So many beautiful memories were made and now, cherished forever. In addition to his parents and wife, Jamie is survived by his step-father, David A. Mitchell; his children Emma, Ethan, Gwen, Gavin and Gage Spangler; step-daughter, Sasha Shallies; step-granddaughter, Kota Schreiber; brothers Jason S. Spangler (wife Nikki) and Anthony A. Mosesso II; sister Liz A. Soto (husband Carl); Grandfather John W. Brand III (wife Sharon) and step-mother Betsy Spangler. He is also survived by his niece and nephews, aunts and uncles and a host of long time friends. Services will be private and at the discretion of the family. Addiction does not discriminate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James' honor to Hope Against Heroin at 2109 Clover Mill Road, Quakertown, PA 18951, or by going to their website (www.hopeagainstheroin.us).
