James Nelson Bevan

James Nelson Bevan, 72, of Souderton, passed away in Florida on Feb. 27, 2023. He was born in Shenandoah, PA on Feb. 26, 1951 to the late Ralph and Mary Elizabeth (Frost) Bevan. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Rice) Bevan for 50 years. He was a school teacher in the Quakertown Community School District for 35 years. He enjoyed many years of coaching both baseball and basketball. He loved spending time with family and friends vacationing in Florida and the Jersey shore. Most of all, he took pride in being a pop-pop to his wonderful grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife; children Stacy (Michael) Swavely, Allison (Tracey Schaeffer) Bevan, and Craig (Monica) Bevan; grandchildren Lucas, Rylee, Makenna, Carina, Sebastian, and Juliana; sister Beth Ann (Stephen) Cygan; and many other loving family and friends.

All are invited on Fri. Mar. 10 to a visitation from 6-9pm at West Swamp Mennonite Church, 2501 Allentown Rd., Quakertown, PA 18951. An additional visitation will be held Sat. Mar. 11 from 9-11am, followed by a memorial service at 11am. At the conclusion of services we will have committal prayers at the church cemetery.
