Jack James

October 14, 1940 — November 3, 2017

Jack L. James, 77, of Quakertown, died Friday, November 3, in Briarleaf Nursing Home, Doylestown. He was the husband of Ellen (Smith) James for the past 27 years. Born in East Geeenville, he was a son of the late Arthur and Lillian (McLean) James. He was a graduate of Souderton High School and served with the US Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a master electrician with Local 98 IBEW, Philadelphia. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Quakertown (Pleasant Valley), the NRA, North American Hunt Club, and for many years served as a soccer coach. Surviving with his wife are his children Denise Miller, husband Jeff, Dawn Schnell, husband Ken all of Gilbertsville, Debbie Roland, husband Rick, Red Hill, Dana Walter, husband Jim, Line Lexington, Jack A., wife Polly, Perkasie and Jeff, wife Michelle, Hatfield; stepsons Michael Griffo, wife Melody, Richlandtown and Joseph Griffo, wife Cindy, Lansdale; 27 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Brittani James. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Wed. Nov. 15 in Trinity United Church of Christ, 1990 Rt 212, Quakertown (Pleasant Valley). Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Valley. Memorial contributions may be made in Jack's memory to PA Wounded Warriors Inc., 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or the Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market St., Suite 102; Phila., PA 19106.
